Saline Bird Concept

The Saline Bird Concept is a concept bike designed by five design students - Charles-Edouard Berche, Ugo Spagnolo, Adrien Fuinel, Frederic Dobbelstein and Jean-Philippe Paries - at the ISD of Valenciennes (France) as a design exercise for their 2010-2011 final project. The bike has been designed as a race bike for the "Les Triplettes de Bonneville" and get sits inspiration from the shape of a skier as he flies down the slope.

The Saline Bird Concept is powered by a compressed air engine fed by three air tanks with a total capacity of 27 liters. It sits on a carbon fiber frame with leather skin parts in place of the conventional body panels.

This leather skin can be slipped on and off "like a sock" in order to switch between body panels or no body panels. The bike can be turned into a road model by replacing the handlebar.
Technical partners of the project include MDI (engine), LUXFER (air tank), and BRM.

2011 Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak

Ducati is widely considered as one of the – if not the most – popular Italian motorcycle manufacturers in the world and when they release a special edition bike, a lot of people stand up and take notice.
Take the Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak, for example. As a special edition model of Ducati’s Multistrada line that was built to celebrate Greg Tracy’s triumph at the world famous International Hill Climb race in 2010, the Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak is yet another example of Ducati’s penchant for building high-quality motorcycles.

Among the features that are found in this special edition bike include a Corse style exterior finish, passenger foot-peg hangers, a black engine guard, red pin-striped wheels, a carbon fiber silencer, and a race inspired low screen that’s likewise made from carbon.

The special edition Ducati will become available in the UK beginning in May at a price tag of £16,750, or $27,085 based on current exchange rates.
Start planning on ordering one now because knowing Ducati and special edition bikes, the Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak won’t be available after it hits dealerships.

2011 Falcon Motorcycles Black Falcon

At some point in our lives, we might pluck down some of our hard-earned cash and make a real impulse purchase. Not on the level of an iPad or even a new HDTV, but somewhere along the lines of a motorcycle. When that time comes, we’re going to take a real good look at Falcon Motorcycle’s latest two-wheeled masterpiece: the Black Falcon.

Making its debut at this year’s Quail Motorcycle Gathering, the Black Falcon was originally built as a Vincent Black Shadow, but thanks to the enterprising and ingenious minds of Falcon Motorcycle, the bike has been turned into a real drag-strip raven. Construction of the bike took a year to make with every piece of the bike stripped down and retooled to make it look the way it does now: sexy, sleek, and downright spicy.

After all the work was done, the result was a lighter and more balanced bike that produces 75 horsepower with two available gas tanks for travel and racing purposes and a top speed of 140 mph. Blasting off along the highway on a bike like this at well over 100 mph may not be the safest way to go about riding the Black Falcon, but speed junkies like us sometimes need to have our fix.

Otherwise, what’s the point of having an awesome bike?

Amarok P1 Electric Motorcycle

Canada is famous for a lot of things, including ice hockey, health care, and Tim Horton’s doughnuts. Producing top-of-the-line motorcycles, on the other hand, isn’t one of them.
In an attempt to change that perception, Quebec-based company, Amarok Consultants, has introduced a new electric motorcycle prototype called the ’P1’.

The P1 comes was designed with the intent of making it as light as possible by putting in a 7.5-kilowatt-hour battery to go with two Agni 95 electric motors on a body that tips the scales at just 325 pounds. The powertrain is capable of producing 75 horsepower and combined with the lightweight body, could pose as a serious threat in the TTXGP, an international racing series made up of electric motorcycles.
No word yet on when the bike is going to go to production, but Amarok is optimistic that it should go over well with the public. So optimistic, in fact, that the company is already hard at work in developing an electric motorcycle that shaves off 50 pounds from the P1 prototype.

In a world increasingly infiltrated by electric vehicles, the Amarok P1 should be a fresh alternative for riders who prefer a greener way in getting around and about in their two-wheeled machines.

Honda Racing Corporation has decided to unveil their long-awaited NSF250R 4-stroke bike at the Catalunya race circuit in Barcelona on June 2, 2011, just in time for the future Moto3 class that’s set to take the place of the current 125cc category of the GP125 class of the FIM Road-Racing World Championship.

The bike is scheduled to have its official press face time on June 2nd at the Catalunya circuit in Barcelona with a public demonstration by Alex Criville happening a day later on June 3rd followed by another demo lap right after the warm-up session of the MotoGP race on Sunday, June 5th.
