Exterior And Interior

Like with the coupe version, the roadster version will feature a long bonnet, large wheels, and a short rear end. Both coupe and roadster versions are also built on an aluminum spaceframe, but due to the omission of a fixed roof and gullwing doors for the roadster, it was necessary to design the side sills more robustly.

The new Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster will be offered with a three-layered fabric soft top which is deposited behind the seats in a Z-formation to save space. The sports car offers a low center of gravity and is designed for speeds up to 196 mph.


Engine

Under the hood, the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster will feature the same engine as the coupe: a 6.3-liter V8 engine located front-mid that will develop 571 hp and up to 479 lb-ft. of torque. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Mercedes has also announced that the roadster will be capable of a top speed that is just one mph lower than the coupe: 196 mph. Prices And Competition

The new Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster will be put on sale after its official debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Prices will start from about $200,000. The 2012 SLS AMG Roadster will make its U.S. debut in Fall 2011.In Europe the car is priced from € 195,160, or about $278,000 at the current exchange rates.

The Competition for the SLS Roadster is the 458 Italia Spyder which has a top speed of 200 Mph (320 Kmph)  but it has a much higher price tag so 458 Italia Spyder Is out. But the Mclaren Mp4-12c has a top speed of about 205 Mph ( 328 Kmph)
but we do not know the price but it is said that the Mclaren will cost less than the SLS if that is so. The

Mcalren eats the SLS for Lunch....!!!

2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG By MEC Design

MEC Design is no stranger to working on the SLS AMG, so much so in fact that their first design for the car was introduced 18 months ago. Fast forward to this week and the aftermarket company has prepared a new program for the SLS 63 AMG, one that includes an aerodynamic package for a customer from Florida.

MEC Design’s exterior package for the SLS 63 AMG includes a two-piece front spoiler, a spoiler lip finished in carbon, optional LED headlights, new side sills with four optional LED lights per side, a rear trunk-lid lip, a two-piece rear roof spoiler, a roof air scoop, a custom built, stainless steel sport exhaust system, three different diffuser options (Extreme, Formula, or GT3), and a set of mecxtreme3 allow wheels that are available in either 20" or 21".

Inside the car, MEC Design gave the SLS AMG a sports steering wheel dressed in carbon and Alcantara with leather/Alcantara and carbon/leather combinations coming as added options for customers. Speaking of carbon fiber, there’s plenty of the high-end material placed inside to make it look like its swimming in the posh item. Carbon inserts have been applied on the middle console, door guards, entry guard, the seat casings, and just behind the rear seats.

2011 Mercedes E-Class

The 2011 Mercedes E-Class is different for a number of reasons, chief among them being that the German automaker decided to complete the whole line-up by introducing the E-Class Cabriolet.
The 2011 E-Class Cabriolet’s soft top can be opened and closed fully automatically within 20 seconds – even when driving at speeds of up to 25 mph. The roof is then stowed in a special compartment just behind the rear panel with a retractable cover separating the soft top compartment from the trunk area.
Even if the car’s going 100 mph with the top down, this space allows for a turbulent-free zone inside the cabin. Apart from the AIRCAP system, the E-Class Cabriolet also comes with ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection, PRE-SAFE anticipatory occupant protection, Adaptive Highbeam Assist and DISTRONIC PLUS proximity control.

Interior features include 14-way power heated front seats with 4-way lumbar support, leather sport front seats with integrated NECK-PRO active head restraints, and 4-place seating. Dual-zone digital automatic climate control, a premium leather multifunction 3-spoke steering wheel, and Burl Walnut wood trim is also available, as are an in-dash 6-disc DVD/CD changer, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Harman/kardon LOGIC7 audio system with Dolby Digital 5.1, HD Radio, an iPod/MP3 media interface, enhanced voice control, an ATTENTION ASSIST driver drowsiness monitor, COMAND with SIRIUS Real Time Traffic, and Bluetooth.

Performance

The 2009 E-Class was powered by four-cylinder engines with the horsepower rating beginning at 175 power. V6 and V8 engine variants were made available, with the output reaching all the way up to 514 horsepower for the top-of-the-line model. All these models were mated with a six-speed manual transmission while a seven-speed automatic transmission came as an optional feature. The performance numbers may vary, but the 2009 E-Class nevertheless came with an electronically limited speed of 155 mph with a 0-60 mph time of 6.5 seconds.
As with the 2010 model, the E-Class came with a number of engine options, including a 3.5-liter V6 engine and a range-topping 6.2-liter V8 engine. Output numbers of the V6 version came at 268 horsepower at 6,000 and 258 lb/ft of torque at 2,400 rpm. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line 6.2-liter V8 variant came with an output of 518 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 465 lb/ft of torque at 5,200 rpm.

Mercedes SLS AMG By MAE Design

We’ve never heard of MAE Design, but apparently they just got some new management in the form of Yuksel Akkus, the official license holder for the company in Germany. Now that all that has been taken care of, the company has moved into the working portion of business with a new tuning package for the Mercedes SLS AMG. Not much was done to the sports car, but who can resist more images of the SLS AMG?

The most obvious modifications to the sports car are the appropriately named Crownia wheels. They measure 9.5 and 11.5x22 inches and are wrapped in 315/25 rear tires and 265/30 front tires. These new wheels are a work in progress and more sizes and bolt circles will become available in the next few years.
Apart from the flashy wheels, the Mercedes will also receive a new lowering module for serial air-suspension car bodies that can be remote-controlled using the phone buttons on the steering wheel. With the touch of a button, drivers can glide over that speed bump without nicking their fancy ride. A new stainless steel exhaust system is also available and is offered in three different volume stages.
The engine for the Mercedes SLS AMG was left untouched so we’re still looking at a a 6.3-liter V8 located front-mid that will develop 571 hp and up to 479 lb-ft. of torque.

2012 Mercedes W212 E63 AMG

Mercedes Benz decided to make big changes to its AMG lineup for the 2012 model year and incorporated a new engine into the lineup. The 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo engine will replace the naturally aspirated unit.

Power is up 32hp to total 557hp if you order the AMG performance package. Standard form will still see a 7hp gain. Torque is back – this engine makes 516 lb-ft. of it which should increase the whiplash effect in this sedan.

The new engine should get the 0-60mph in the 4.3 second range and still reach a restricted 155mph.
AMG engineers have also widened the front track even further (56mm) to increase cornering and grip.

This in conjunction with the other advanced computer systems help make this the most balanced and nimble AMG E-class ever. Performance has become equally as important as efficiency in this segment and Mercedes has improved its fuel economy at the same time.

The new E63 AMG should get 23.5mpg which is a 22% increase over the old model. The combination of more horsepower and less gas simply gets no better.

Other than the minor AMG badging here and there, the interior is as luxurious as any other E-class sedan. The seats are actually much better, but every other surface is covered in alcantara or leather making this cabin a nice place to spend time. As usual, several technological gadgets are available including night vision system with pedestrian detection. Lane departure warning and blind spot detection systems also help keep this AMG out of trouble.

In 2012, the performance quotient for the interior has been upped by the addition of a flat bottom steering wheel, new shift lever with embossed AMG lettering, and a 3-D color monitor in the gauge cluster.

Mercedes SLK Class

The second model is a SLK250 powered by a 1,8 four-cylinder engine that delivers a total of 201 mph.
This engine will be mated to a a 6-speed manual transmission and and delivers an estimated fuel economy of 27 mpg (combined). It sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 6,5 seconds, while top speed is limited to 155 mph.

Like with the exterior, the interior is also characterized by stylish sportiness and high-quality, authentic materials: the center console and other trim parts are brushed in aluminum, or on client’s request in high quality wood offered in high-gloss dark brown walnut or high-gloss black ash.

The round dials are flanked by a display for the information generated by the online computer, while the top of the dashboard gets a fine analogue clock. The multifunction sports steering wheel and the sun-reflecting leather are covered in leather.
